ACC at the HSUS Animal Care Expo 2017

Aleah on Expo panelACC's very own Aleah Simpson (second from left) had the honor of being a presenter on the Women in Leadership panel at the Humane Society of the United States Animal Care Expo, held in Fort Lauderdale in May. As our Manager of Admissions and Surrender Prevention Programming, Aleah oversees progressive initiatives that help keep pets with their families and reduce shelter intakes. We're thrilled she could share her experiences and represent ACC at this prestigious conference!

Several ACC staff members participated in the Expo, an annual event that for more than 25 years has brought together animal welfare professionals and volunteers from around the world to discuss best practices and learn from one another. They attended sessions on topics such as reaching underserved communities, interacting with homeless humans and the pets they love, and increasing cat reclaims.

We're looking forward to next year's Expo in Kansas City, and are continuing to connect with other leaders dedicated to making advancements in the animal welfare field. ACC's Community Cats Coordinator recently returned from a Maddie's Fund apprenticeship in Austin, and this June, our Senior Director, Animal Care & Community Engagement, will be presenting at the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators management conference in Long Beach, California.
