The Kittens Are Coming

Ah, spring. Warmer weather. Lighter clothes. Lots of flowers. Kitten Showers!

Yup, spring is officially here and so is "Kitten Season" -- a time when ACC will welcome about 5,000 tiny felines through our doors. Foster parents, who temporarily care for animals in their own homes, are critical for a shelter to have. This is especially true during kitten season, and so we held our first Kitten Shower at our Manhattan Care Center on April 23. The Dodo livestreamed some video of the tiniest (and furriest) attendees.

The room was packed with New Yorkers excited to join our Foster program, and in all 17 kittens went to homes where they'll continue to grow and get ready for adoption! Thanks to everyone who came out and to staff who decorated, put together foster kits and even baked special cupcakes for the occasion.

And our next foster orientation--whether you're interested in kittens, adult cats, or dogs--will be at our headquarters on Tuesday, May 10.
