Adoption Spotlight: Jay

Jay A1033946With ACC since April, Jay is a super-sweet dog who loves and is loved by everyone. One volunteer calls him "the mayor of the shelter;" another, noting his gentle ways with pups, suggests "nannie dog" may be a fitting description.

This approximately three-year-old cutie arrived at ACC as a stray, timid and nervous. But our Behavior team notes that Jay has done well during off-leash social time with other dogs and has warmed up considerably to his human caretakers. He is affectionate and social with humans and dogs alike. "Jay has come a long way... from a very shy young boy, he has evolved into a gentle, polite,  well-mannered, playful, sociable and still very loving young man," says a volunteer. "He loves to come on the lap and get hugged and kissed. He has plenty to give in return."

If you're interesting in adopting Jay, meet him at our Manhattan Care Center at 326 E. 110th Street (open 12pm-8pm Monday through Friday, and 10am-6pm Saturday and Sunday), or email adoption@nycacc.org with his A#: A1033946.

Jay A1033946 (2)ACC adoptions include vaccinations, spay/neuter, a pre-registered microchip, an identification tag, a collar, and a certificate for a free initial exam at a participating veterinarian. And during ACC's Jurassic Bark special, running through June 14, the adoption fee for Jay and other dogs and cats seven months and older is $20!
