Tie, Train-Track-Trekking, Headline-Making Pup, Adopted! Like the subway kittens last year, Tie garnered a lot of attention due to her affinity for public transportation. MTA police officers Luis Alvarez and Errold Borges rescued her from the tracks at the Harlem-125th Street Station, after an engineer of a Grand Central Terminal-bound train had made Metro-North's operations control center aware of her presence. Tie was brought to AC&C's Manhattan Care Center, where, like all dogs that come though our doors, she received a medical exam and vaccinations. When no one claimed her, she became eligible for adoption. AC&C received more than 100 queries about—and approximately three dozen applications for—the famous canine.
Tie went to her new home after she was spayed and microchipped. Her guardians report she's doing well, "a bundle of energy" and a big fan of belly rubs. It's not all play, though - she's already accompanying them to the office (see pics). "Now Tie commutes to work by car," Tie's family says, "we have forbidden her to take the train." Tie In the News
