| Last week, New York City became the first city in the nation to BAN the sale of guinea pigs in pet stores!
Ever since the pandemic, shelters have been struggling with the sheer number of guinea pig surrenders and abandonment cases. We are very excited about the changes that the guinea pig bill will bring, and we would like to extend a big thank you to Speaker Adams, Council Member Ayala, Council Member Schulman, and Allie from Voters for Animal Rights for their efforts in helping this bill get passed. |
