We are so honored to share this short film about Coca Cola, a young cat adopted from Manhattan ACC in October of 2022. It’s called “Black Cat” and was written and produced by Mario Wright. ”I wanted to challenge the stigma that a lot of times comes associated with the word black,” says Wright. “And so I did it all from a beautiful Black Cat’s point of view.”

ACC knows that we can't end animal homelessness in NYC on our own. We need the help of partners. This is why we are so grateful for continued support from Petco Love, who over the years has invested over $1 million in lifesaving grants to help the homeless and abandoned pets in our care. Petco Love committed $250,000 for two years to maintain and support programs that provide behavioral and environmental enrichment, exercise, socialization, behavior modification and care, with a focus on the population of dogs with more challenging behaviors. This is especially important as our in-shelter dog population is consistently high, with many dogs requiring specialized behavior attention.
