Dear friend,
Mayor de Blasio announced a location for a full-service animal shelter in the Bronx earlier this year, but the City Council must approve it before the project can move foward. There's still time to make your voice heard!
Please show your support for a Bronx Animal Care Center at 2050 Bartow Avenue by calling your local council member (if you're not sure who that is, you can check at council.nyc.gov/districts/) and Council Speaker Corey Johnson (district office: 212-564-7757; legislative office: 212-788-7210). You can also let the Council know you're in favor of the Bronx center by emailing correspondence@council.nyc.gov.
Unlike our current Bronx Resource Center on East Fordham Road, this new, large, state-of-the-art facility would accommodate cat, dog and rabbit adoptions, multiple volunteer opportunities, school tours and much more. We're excited for the opportunity to have a greater presence in the Bronx and better serve the people and animals of NYC, and appreciate your help to make the new center a reality.
Thank you, Alex Silver Community Advocacy & Outreach Manager Animal Care Centers of NYC
