Animal Sheltering magazine coverAnimal Sheltering Magazine Features ACC
HSUS' Animal Sheltering magazine, the preeminent publication dedicated to the animal welfare industry, is a key informational resource for animal welfare professionals around the country. We're proud that ACC’s Admissions department is featured in the current edition, and that ACC is gaining a reputation for being a progressive organization others can look at as an example. The article discusses the goals and philosophy that drives the Admissions department to do the great work they do every day keeping pets and people together, and includes interviews with some of our staff, partners, and clients. Read the article »

clinic 3.19.16Free Vaccines in the Bronx
At our latest pop-up clinic in the Bronx, nearly 100 pets were given free vaccinations and microchips. 23 pets signed up for free spay/neuter surgeries with our partners at the ASCPA, and everyone received information on ACC's additional resources, including free dog training (our next session is this Saturday!) and our pet food pantry. Best of all, we had a great time meeting so many wonderful pets and their families. See photos »

Adoption Spotlight: Cupcake
Cupcake, as her name suggests, “is wonderfully sweet, scrumptious, and easy to love,” her foster mom says. “She's a social puppy who enjoys meeting new people. Everyone who meets her remarks how friendly she is - she receives lots of hugs and kisses from people we meet during our walks." Cupcake has been in foster since late last year and you can email fosters@nycacc.org if you're interested in adopting this cutie! Learn more »

The New York Times followed up its first article about bunny matchmaking at ACC,"Speed Dating for Rabbits," with "Wallflower Bunny Finds a Home and a Companion." Meanwhile, ABC captured the magic in a video. Read and watch to learn more about bunnies from awesome ACC rabbit volunteer Amy Odum.

And with Easter coming up, the Daily News ran a piece about rabbit adoption and responsible guardianship. The city recently banned the sale of rabbits in pet stores, but they are available for adoption from shelters and rescue groups.
