 AC&C Celebrates New York's Kindest
Thanksgiving may be past, but we're grateful every day for those who partner with us to make a difference for NYC animals in need. On December 6, we honored some of our dedicated supporters, who truly are among New York’s Kindest, at the landmark National Arts Club. An awards ceremony, dinner, and silent auction followed a VIP cocktail reception that featured multi-platinum selling vocalist Ann Hampton Callaway. Learn more » |
 New Staten Island Care Center Underway
A brand new Animal Care Center in Staten Island, years
in the planning, will soon take shape! AC&C Executive Director Risa
Weinstock recently joined Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro, other
elected officials, City agency heads, and the family of Tommy Monahan for a

 “Subway Kittens” Find a Home
Arthur & August, arguably the most famous kittens in New York City history, found a great forever home this fall, nearly two months after they made headlines for bringing subway service to a halt. “What's neat to see is that while August is clearly the more adventurous one, he shows his attachment to Arthur by making sure he comes along for all the adventures,” adopter Katherine says. “For Arthur's part, he tends to calm August down when his bursts of energy begin to get frenzied.”

 Supporter Spotlight: The Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals
The
Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals, founded by Jane Hoffman in 2003, is a key
partner of AC&C, and has played an indispensable role in saving animals’
lives over the past decade. The Alliance serves as the umbrella organization
for more than 150 animal welfare groups, and tackles
the issue of animal homelessness through a number of important programs.
AC&C works closely with the Alliance on several fronts, and is delighted
that it's celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
