This fall we began work on a very exciting initiative with the introduction of playgroups for our dogs. Thanks to a grant from Best Friends Animal Society, we were able to bring in Aimee Sadler, founder of "Dogs Playing for Life" for nine days of intensive training with both staff and volunteers. Learn more / See video »

New York Pit Bull Appreciation Society logoAC&C and Bark & Co Partner for Pit Bulls
Bark & Co and AC&C recently announced a partnership to promote pit bull adoptions. Starting on October 25—National Pit Bull Awareness Day—anyone who adopts a pit bull or pit mix from AC&C is eligible for a free “New York Pit Bull Appreciation Society” BarkBox, a pawsome package containing toys and treats suitable for big dogs. September Statistics
In September, we took in 2,865 cats and dogs, and 532 were adopted. Another 1,297 were placed with our dedicated New Hope partners, and 124 cats and dogs were returned to their owners. 151 animals were in foster (some of them may also be counted in other categories).

YTD (through September) we've had 4,517 cat and dog adoptions. Help us continue to increase adoptions of cats, dogs, and rabbits! Statistics for each month--cats, dogs, and other animals--are available online toward the end of the following month.
