2016 Annual Report cover_KonaMilestones, and What's Next

2016 was a historic year for ACC and we couldn't have done it without the support of a dedicated animal welfare community in New York City and beyond. Our annual report details the programs we're running and their impact on NYC animals. Together we can end animal homelessness in NYC! View ACC's 2016 annual report >>

1st Quarter 2017 dataLeading the Nation

In the first quarter of 2017, the overall placement rate for cats and dogs reached 94.3%, with 95.5% of cats and 92.6% of dogs placed either through adoptions to the public or through our New Hope adoption partner program. This historic placement rate puts NYC as the nation's leader in placement of dogs and cats among open-admissions shelters that publicly report data and have average annual intakes exceeding 25,000 animals. Read more on Facebook >>

Spring Fling 2017Animal Lovers Gather for Spring Fling

ACC's 10th annual Spring Fling at the National Arts Club was hosted by comedian and actress Caroline Rhea and featured some of very own adorable dogs and cats on the red carpet. Thanks to all who attended the fun-filled fundraiser supporting ACC animals!

Thank You, Volunteers!

Barleycorn1Barleycorn2Barleycorn4Barleycorn3

This National Volunteer Week--and always--we're profoundly grateful for our amazing volunteers, who walk dogs, cuddle cats, care for rabbits, foster, take animal photos and videos, write bios, help raise awareness at events, and do so much more. We were happy to see so many at our recent volunteer meet-and-greet at Barleycorn in downtown Manhattan - see the pics above for proof that these dedicated supporters do get out of the care centers, at least occasionally.

We're thrilled, too, that ACC volunteer groomer Mark "The Dog Guy" Imhof has been recognized as a Hill’s Pet Nutrition Shelter Hero, winning $10,000 for ACC!
Thank you to Mark and to all our volunteers, each and every one a shelter hero. Read the Hill's Shelter Heroes press release >>

Sir EdwardAdoption Spotlight: Sir Edward

"Sir Edward is nothing but a giant puppy!" an ACC volunteer notes. "He's got one thing on his mind: TOYS." This cutie, who first came to ACC at the end of March, "knows commands such as 'sit'
and 'give paw.'" See video >>
